The main line system

Treated water in every room, for Salt Lake City homes.

A single system at the spot where water enters the house. The shower, the washing machine, the water heater and every tap get treated water instead of whatever the supply sends.

Seeing this? An odd taste or smell · Scale and spots · Stains in the sink · Water from a well · Things you cannot taste

Whole home mixed bed system, softener and carbon in one footprint

The mixed bed tank. It takes up about as much floor as a small chest freezer.

Under sink tankless reverse osmosis unit with its own faucet

Reverse osmosis under the sink, part of the package.

What it helps with

Chlorine you can taste in a glass or smell in the shower

That swimming pool smell in a steamy bathroom

Scale on the taps, the shower glass and the kettle, and soap that struggles to suds

If the assessment finds something outside what this system handles, we tell you what does handle it.

What goes in

Mixed bed means two stages sharing one tank. The softener deals with hardness, and the carbon deals with the taste and smell of chlorine. It sits at the main line, cleans itself, and all it asks of you is salt in the cabinet.

For drinking and cooking

A reverse osmosis unit fits under the kitchen sink and runs its own faucet. The whole house gets two stages, and the water you drink and cook with gets a third. Read about the RO system

The price

Starting at $2,999

For a standard home that includes the softener, the carbon stage, reverse osmosis under the sink, installation and tax. Without the RO, the whole house system is $2,699. Larger households may need the dual tank system, $3,299 on its own or $3,599 with RO. On a well? That gets its own sizing and price.

What people ask about it

City water comes treated, but the chlorine that treats it is still in it when it reaches you, and the hardness is left for you to deal with. If you can taste the first or see the second, you have your answer.

The softener uses the salt to clean itself. The level in the cabinet drops slowly, over weeks rather than days, and topping it up is all the upkeep there is.

All the taps get the two whole house stages. For drinking and cooking, a reverse osmosis unit sits under the kitchen sink with a faucet of its own.
